Hermann Weyeneth (born July 26, 1943 in Bern ; legal resident in Lüterkofen-Ichertswil and Nennigkofen ) is a Swiss farmer and politician ( SVP ).

Life

Hermann Weyeneth was born in Bern on July 26, 1943, the second of three children. The parents are Hermann Weyeneth von Nennigkofen and Käthi Weyeneth geb. Geiser from Langenthal. 1959 to 1960 he attended the agricultural school in Marcelin near Morges . 1960 to 1962 he did an agricultural apprenticeship in Bangerten . From 1961 to 1963 he went to technical school and completed winter courses there. He finished this school with a diploma. 1963 to 1966 he went to the recruit school , later to the officers' school. He finished his military service as a company commander with the rank of captain . From 1966 to 1967 he went to business school in Bern. In 1970 he passed the professional examination and received the certificate of proficiency. In 1972 Annemarie married Marthaler. The marriage had four children: two sons and two daughters. In 1975 he passed the master's examination and graduated with a diploma. In 1970 he leased his parents' farm and took it over as owner in 1982. Weyeneth was a farmer in Jegenstorf until 1999 . This year his eldest son David took over the farm. Weyeneth has been working as a freelance entrepreneur in business and politics since then. His wife died in 2000.

In 1963 he joined the Farmers ', Trade and Citizens' Party , which later became the Swiss People's Party . From 1978 to 1981 he was a local councilor in Jegenstorf and from 1982 to 1985 mayor . From 1979 to 1994 he was a member of the Grand Council and from 1982 to 1990 he was a member of the State Economic Commission. From 1990 to 1993 he was President of the Finance Commission. In 1994 he was elected to the National Council. There he was a member of the Finance Commission (FK), the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the Federal Pension Fund and the State Political Commission (SPK). From 2000 to 2006 he was President of the SVP of the Canton of Bern. In 2002 and 2003 he was President of the Special Commission for the New Financial Equalization . In 2007 he did not stand for re-election. From 1998 to 2013 Weyeneth was President of the Jegenstorf Castle Foundation .
