Hermann von Dorne , also van Dorne (* March 8, 1596 in Lübeck ; † May 16, 1665 ibid) was mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Hermann von Dorne came from the Lübeck council family von Dorne and was the older son of councilor Hermann von Dorne . Hieronymus von Dorne (1603–1671), who later became governor of Mölln , was his younger brother. Hermann von Dorne studied from 1613 at the University of Rostock . He was elected to the city council in 1633 and appointed mayor there in 1651. As a councilor he was the treasurer from 1647 to 1650. As the city's envoy, he represented the city in 1639 together with the Syndic Benedikt Winkler in Stade as a mediator in a dispute between the later Danish King Friedrich III. , who was Archbishop of Bremen as Friedrich II. 1634–1648, and the council of the Hanseatic City of Bremen . In 1642 he represented the city together with the syndic and later mayor David Gloxin at the Danish court in Copenhagen on questions of the sound tariff . In 1663 he became the godfather of Gloxin's grandson August Hermann Francke .

He was married twice: his first marriage to a daughter of councilor Bernhard Wedemhof . Through his second marriage to a daughter of Hermann von Wetken († approx. 1650) he came into possession of the Trenthorst estate . He also used the municipal estate Lauerhof. His son Hieronymus von Dorne later also became mayor of the city.
