Hermann von Langen (* 1417 ; † February 23, 1484 in Münster ) was cathedral dean in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Hermann von Langen came from the Westphalian noble family von Langen and was the son of Egbert I von Langen zu Rheine (1375–1423) and his wife Jutta Budde (1385–1435). His brother Bernd (Bernd II.) Was a squire and Burgmann zu Steinfurt and married to the nobility of Helmstede called Kulen. The future cathedral dean Hermann von Langen emerged from the marriage. Others

Hermann was one of the benefactors of the Fraterhaus in Münster . He laid the first stone for the new church and gave 20 gold guilders. Together with canon Johann Stael , he is also the founder of the Annunciation, which was originally located in Liesborn Abbey and is now in the National Gallery of London .
