The Kläden manor , also known as Gutshof Kläden or Schloss Kläden , is a listed building in the village of Kläden , a district of the town of Bismark in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the manor house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 75713 .

history

From 1753 to 1754, a single-storey plastered building was built on behalf of Hans Friedrich Wilhelm von Lattorf instead of a mansion that burned down in 1751. This was topped up and expanded in 1827 by Carl Theodosius von Levetzow . In the years before the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945, the plant was used as a seed breeding company by Count Werner Graf von Bassewitz-Levetzow , who was expropriated by the land reform. During the period from 1945 to 1995 the facility was used in various ways, including for agricultural purposes. After 1995 the estate was privately owned and was the seat of the Kläden administrative association until 2005 . The manor house is now used by two families as a residence and is operated as a day care center for the elderly.

description

Today's mansion is a two-storey, rectangular, nine-axis building over a high cellar and with a mansard hipped roof . A narrow wing with three floors is attached to the narrow south side, which breaks the prevailing symmetry of the facade. The three central axes of the house are highlighted on both sides by triangular gables with semicircular windows. At the front there is the main entrance portal with an outside staircase and on the garden side there is a garden door at the same height to a terrace with an outside staircase that leads into the former park. There is a balcony above the terrace. The front face was probably simplified in terms of design during renovations, as the east-facing garden side has far more details in the facade. Brick terraced houses were added to the north of the manor house. The lower windows have a finely stuccoed frame on the back and mirror surfaces in the parapet, while the upper windows are the same in shape and height as the lower ones, but are completely plain. During a renovation of the front the square window frames were slightly downgraded back in two floors and sills replaced. The portal frame and the two accompanying windows, however, are still original.

On the ground floor there is a late Baroque ceiling mirror and stucco ceilings have been preserved in several rooms . The ceilings in the basement are decorated with geometric ceiling mirrors, which suggest that it was built in the late baroque era. On the other hand, the ceilings on the upper floor were provided with elaborate ornaments based on ancient models, which suggests that it originated in classicism . Similar distinctions can be seen in the doors and paneling in the window niches. In addition, a classical ballroom with Ionic pilasters and a rich coffered ceiling was set up on the upper floor in 1827 .

The entire manor complex was built in the baroque style. The brick farm buildings are opposite each other at the gate entrance in the northern part of the complex. The gatehouses, also made of brick, are opposite the manor house. The rectangular courtyard is flanked by two uniform stables and houses. The courtyard was restored to the state of 1850 when the field stone paving and planting were renewed. The park also included a French-style park built in 1753 to the south of the manor house, but which was heavily modified by later additions. The park includes the plum pond and the wash pond .

location

The manor house is located in the center of the village at Am Schloss 1 , east of the village church of Kläden and one of the large stone graves from Kläden . The facility is bordered to the north by Dorfstraße and to the west and south by Parkstraße.
