Herrnschwende is a district of the town of Weißensee in the Sömmerda district in Thuringia .

geography

Herrnschwende is located in the Thuringian Basin , east of Greußen on the Schwarzburgische Helbe , as is the neighboring village of Nausiß , which has been part of the municipality since 1951.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1253.

The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Weißensee until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the district Weissensee in the administrative district of Erfurt the province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Nausiß was incorporated.

Attractions

The church of St. Martini in Herrnschwende was built in 1749/50 and rebuilt in 1950, as can be seen from a stone plaque above the church entrance.
