Wallerstein court

The Wallerstein court was a court of rule for the Counts of Oettingen-Wallerstein zu Wallerstein . It existed from 1818 to 1848. Until 1837 it was part of the Rezatkreis , from 1838 it belonged to Swabia and Neuburg . In 1848 it was converted into a judicial and police authority, which expired in 1850.

The ruling court bordered the district court Nördlingen in the south and the ruling court Maihingen in the north .

The ruling court was divided into 8 tax districts, which were administered by the Oettingen Rent Office.

In 1818 there were 9 rural communities in the Wallerstein court:

  • Baldingen
  • Birkhausen with pheasantry and Galgenhof
  • Christgarten with Anhausen
  • Ehringen
  • Forheim with Kartheusen and paper mill
  • Hürnheim with Niederhaus and rice mill
  • Löpsingen
  • Munzingen with brick barn
  • Wallerstein

In 1818 there were 5010 residents in the Wallerstein court, divided into 946 families and living in 955 properties.

In 1823 the municipalities of Deiningen, Dürrenzimmern, Fessenheim, Holzkirchen, Marktoffingen, Maihingen and Minderoffingen were added from the dissolved Mayhingen court , so that the Wallerstein court now consisted of 16 rural communities. In 1848 the Wallerstein court was dissolved. The communities belonged to the Wallerstein district court founded in 1852 with the exception of the communities Christgarten and Hürnheim, which were referred to the Noerdlingen district court , and the community Forheim, which was referred to the Bissingen district court .
