Live and act

After finishing school at the Dr.-Johanna-Decker-Gymnasium in Amberg , she studied psychology at the University of Tübingen . She developed fundamental insights into the close connection between physical causes and the psychological dimension of pain. For the first time she clearly showed which psychological prerequisites contribute to the chronic development of pain. In 2004, in cooperation with the Mannheim University Hospital and Heidelberg University , she succeeded in bringing the Collaborative Research Center 636 “Learning, Memory and Plasticity of the Brain: Implications for Psychopathology ”, of which she is the spokesperson, to the Central Institute.
