Herz-Jesu-Kirche (Pechbrunn)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Herz-Jesu-Kirche is a Roman Catholic parish church in Pechbrunn in the northern Upper Palatinate . The neo-baroque church was built between 1913 and 1916 by the master builder August Mayer and is now a registered monument.

history

Until the beginning of the 20th century there was only a small stone farmer's chapel in Pechbrunn, which could accommodate around 160 people thanks to a wooden extension. After a proposal to expand this chapel was rejected, Mitterteicher pastors founded a church building association, which was financed by the residents of Pechbrunn and the neighboring Groschlattengrün. On July 6, 1913, the foundation stone was laid by the teacher Andreas Kammerer.

The church consecration of the new church, the shell of which had already been completed by that time, was carried out on December 7, 1913 by the Mitterteich pastor Josef Mayer, whose parish Pechbrunn belonged to the 1960s. The architect of the sacred building was August Mayer from Waldershof .

In the years 1914 to 1916, the interior design and furnishings of the church followed. Some furnishings were donated through an announcement in the Bonifatiusblatt. The high altar, the pulpit and the Pieta were made by the South Tyrolean artist Josef Rifeser from Ortisei in Val Gardena . In 1916 the organ and the tower clock were also installed. The exterior plaster was only applied after the end of the First World War . The consecration took place on July 3, 1935 by the Archbishop of Regensburg Michael Buchberger .

In 2003 the inauguration of the renovated parish church was celebrated by cathedral capitular Reinhard Pappenberger . For the 100th anniversary of the church, an exterior renovation of the building will follow in 2012.
