The Catholic parish church Herz-Jesu is a listed church building at Zur Alten Kapelle 20 in Lippling , a district of Delbrück in the district of Paderborn ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The previous chapel was an important place of pilgrimage for the veneration of the cross in the 16th and 17th centuries . The chapel was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . The miraculous cross has been kept in St. Johannes in Delbrück since 1671 .

The neo-Gothic hall church with a retracted polygonal closed choir was built in brick by Lambert von Fisenne in 1900 . The western extension and the tower were built with green sandstone in 1912. The bright hall with a ribbed vault is kept uniform.

Furnishing

  • The neo-Gothic high altar was made by Ferdinand Mündelein in 1901.
  • The side altar and the pulpit from 1901, both made of wood, are the work of Christoph Siebe.
  • The painted wooden altar pendium depicting the finding of the cross is marked 1648.
