Dąbrówno (German Schöneichen ) is a village in the municipality of Potęgowo in the Słupsk District ( Stolp District ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Dąbrówno is located in Western Pomerania , about 30 kilometers east-southeast of the city of Słupsk ( Stolp ) and four kilometers east of the church village Łupawa ( Lupow ).

history

Dąbrówno was previously called Dombrowe and emerged from the former Damerow or Dumbrowe sheep farm on the Grumkow estate. In 1784 the sheep farm belonged to four Kossäts and eight Büdners as well as the Schönfelde colony , which consisted of a Vorwerk, four farmers and four Büdners. In 1839 the Vorwerk Dombrowe became an independent estate, which was given the name Schöneichen before the First World War . The 821 hectare manor with the Schönfeld Vorwerk was still owned by Leo von Zelewski in 1928 and was then relocated.

In 1939 there were 410 inhabitants in 78 households in Schöneichen.

Before 1945 Schöneichen belonged to the district of Grumbkow in the district of Stolp , administrative district of Köslin , in the province of Pomerania . The parish area was 827 hectares. There were two places of residence in the community of Schöneichen:

  • Schöneichen
  • Schönfeld

The village community had a total of 57 farms.

Towards the end of the Second World War , the Red Army occupied the village on March 9, 1945 without a fight. Some villagers had previously attempted to flee to no avail. From July 1945 Poles came to the village and took over houses and farms. By Christmas 1945 they had confiscated all homesteads. Schöneichen was renamed Dąbrówno . A Polish penal camp was set up in Gutzmerow, in which villagers who did not comply were locked up. From now on only some of the fields could be cultivated. In the period that followed, all of the villagers were expelled .

Later, 147 villagers from Schöneichen were identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 138 in the GDR .

The village now belongs to the Powiat Słupski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (until 1998 Slupsk Voivodeship ). Around 245 people live here today.

church

The villagers present before 1945 were Protestant . In 1925 there was a villager of Catholic religion. Schöneichen belonged to the parish of Lupow and thus to the parish of Stolp-Altstadt.

The elementary school in Schöneichen before 1945 was single-stage. In 1932 a single teacher was teaching 61 school children there.
