history

In 1910 Rudolf von Normann became the owner of the manor village Schurow (today Polish: Skórowo). He sold the property to the Pomeranian Landgesellschaft , which created 58 settler positions here after the First World War . Some of these settlements were created in the Feldmark in the direction of Neitzkow (Nieckowo). This part of the place was then called "New Schurow" (Nowe Skórowo). Until 1945 the place belonged to the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin of the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , Neu Shurow was occupied by Soviet troops . After the end of the war, the place was placed under Polish administration. The Poles occupied houses and farms and drove out the residents.

Since 1945, the place has been part of Gmina Potęgowo in the powiat Słupski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Stolp Voivodeship ).

Parish

Neu Schurow was ecclesiastically part of the Protestant parish Schurow (Skórowo) until 1945 . It was in the church district of Stolp-Altstadt in the church province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Heinz Suhr , who died in the war and whose position was Vicar Gertrud Winkler until the end of the war .

The village belongs to the parish Skórowo ( Schurow ) in the deanery Główczyce ( Glowitz ) in the diocese of Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland . Protestant church members living here belong to the Kreuzkirche community in Słupsk ( Stolp ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

In terms of school, Neu Schurow was connected to Schurow until 1945. In 1929 a new school building was erected in Schurow, which was built outside the village halfway to Neu Schurow. In 1932, two teachers taught 89 school children in three classes. The last German teachers were Hans Vahl and Erich Beilfuß .
