Place name

The Polish place name Węgierskie also stands for the place Węgierskie near Poznan .

history

In 1520 Vangerske belonged to Kaspar Zitzewitz , from 1652 it was owned by von Grumbkow . Together with eleven other estates in the Stolp district , Vangerske came into the hands of the Bonin family in 1790 through the marriage of Ernst Friedrich Otto von Bonin to Sophie von Podewils .

1784 Vangerske had a Vorwerk , a water mill, four farmers, two Kossäten, a pitcher and a total of ten fireplaces. It belonged to the Lupow goods complex (today Łupawa in Polish), which was entailed in 1855 . In 1940 Vangerske, which was last incorporated into Groß Runow (today in Polish: Runowo), was sold to Achim von Zitzewitz . Under the name Wiesenberg , which was valid between 1938 and 1945 , it was considered the “granary” of the area, and the potato seed cultivation industry enjoyed a great reputation. In 1938 the manor Wiesenberg was 368 hectares, with 314 hectares of arable land.

Until 1945, the community of Groß Runow belonged to the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania . After 1945 the former Vangerkse and then Wiesenberg came to Poland and was named Węgierskie. Today it is a village within the Gmina Potęgowo in the powiat Słupski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Stolp Voivodeship ).

church

Before 1945 the population of Vangerske was almost without exception Protestant . The next place of worship was the village chapel in Groß Runow (Runowo), which was a branch in the parish Schurow (today Polish: Skórowo) in the church district of Stolp-Altstadt in the church province of Pomerania in the church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Heinz Suhr .

Since 1945 the population of Węgierskie has been predominantly Catholic . The place belongs to the parish Skórowo ( Schurow ) in the deanery Główczyce in the diocese of Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland . Evangelical church members living here are parish in the Kreuzkirche parish in Słupsk ( Stolp ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
