Location of Lippling in Delbrück

Lippling is one of ten districts of the city of Delbrück in the Paderborn district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The place includes a town center and surrounding farmsteads as well as a holiday village with Swedish houses (only roof houses), which is now called the Lippling residential park . The population of Lippling counts 2174.

Lippling is on the border with the town of Westerwiehe in the town of Rietberg in the Gütersloh district .

history

Lippling and his neighbors Schöning and Steinhorst used to belong to the municipality of Westerloh and became part of the city of Delbrück with the major regional reform that came into force on January 1, 1975. After that, the municipality of Westerloh no longer existed, although the Lipplingen sports club still bears the name FC Westerloh to this day .

Buildings

Sacred Heart Church

In the center of the village on the old market square is the Sacred Heart Church , the Catholic Church from 1900. The additional tower was built in 1912. The associated cemetery is located directly behind the Catholic Church.

Regular events

The annual Schützenfest takes place on the third weekend in June on the village square in front of the Lipplinger Halle.

economy

Basic supplies in the village are ensured by a grocery store, two bakeries and a general doctor. There are also a few smaller specialist shops and a public telephone at the entrance to the Lipplinger Halle. The Lippling industrial estate is located in the northeast of the municipality.

traffic

The town is connected to public transport by lines D2 (CityBus Delbrück), 447 (school transport) and the night express line NE18 from Go.on (company for bus and rail transport). There is also a bus operator in town.

education

The Catholic primary school in Westerloh and a municipal kindergarten are located in Lippling. The former special school "Phillip-von-Hörde" became part of the Catholic primary school in Westerloh.

Public facilities

In Lippling, the volunteer fire brigade provides fire protection and general help. The 30-year-old single gym was demolished in 2008 and a new double gym was built in the same place, which was inaugurated in summer 2009. In front of the gym there is a mini football pitch, which was initiated by the German Football Association as part of the 1000 mini pitch campaign.
