history

The establishment date of the place can no longer be determined. Between 8000 and 6000 BC BC people settled here, which is proven by the oldest find that came to light in Hesedorf, a flint blade ( flint knife ) that was found in the “Asterloh” corridor. A section of a flint ax and two pierced stone hammers made of conspicuously rough rock were found at an unspecified location. The old graves are also a sign of the age of the village. An urn cemetery was located approximately below the old train station. There were stone graves about 1.5 to 2 km away, on the border with Borchelsmoor . Earlier names of the place were Hester (oak) and the old spelling Häsedorff .

First documentary mention was made in 1384 as Hesedorf in Gyhum loud goods register of Bremen Cathedral tithe (tenth rye) to Bremer Dompropstei paid. Around 1500 Hesedorf consisted of five building yards (Vollhofen). In the 16th century, Hesedorf belonged to the Börde Gyhum and was under the jurisdiction of Borch (Borgh) from Bockel . From 1740 Hesedorf was part of the Scheeßel District Bailiwick. According to a population survey, Hesedorf had 76 inhabitants at that time. In 1753 it belonged to the parish of Gyhum, in 1777 it belonged to the Hanoverian Amt Rotenburg and is parish in Gyhum. The school was founded in 1793 and belonged to the Gyhum parish, supported by the sovereign. There is a secondary school in Gyhum and a secondary school in Hesedorf, which includes Borchelhof and some growers from Borchelsmoor. The apprenticeship positions at these secondary schools are inherited positions, which must be filled from members of the family as long as they are suitable.

In 1823, Hesedorf had 101 inhabitants. 25 years later, in 1848, Hesedorf belonged to the province of Verden , Landdrostei Stade, the government of Rotenburg, the Gyhum parish, the Rotenburg post office and had 159 residents and 29 apartments.
