Hesperingen ( Luxembourgish Hesper , French Hesperange ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and belongs to the canton of Luxembourg .
In the southwest, Hesperingen borders directly on the capital Luxembourg , on the municipality of Contern in the east, on the municipality of Roeser in the south and on the municipality of Weiler-la-Tour. The municipality consists of the town of the same name, Hesperingen, and a comparatively large industrial and commercial zone, which contributes significantly to the fact that Hesperingen is one of the richest municipalities in Luxembourg. Other villages in the municipality of Hesperingen are Alzingen, Fentingen, Itzig, and Howald.

Worth seeing
In Hesperingen there is a relatively well-preserved castle ruin, which has been on the additional list of the state's buildings worthy of protection since 1984. The castle was probably built in the first half of the 13th century by the lords of clearing makers , razed for treason in 1480 and 1482 , partially rebuilt, leased and occupied in 1679 on the orders of Louis XIV. There is no evidence of any further destruction this year. In 1798 the castle was auctioned off as "bien national" by the French revolutionary troops.
Several walking paths and nature trails with display boards and explanations about all the important parts of the municipality and about historical backgrounds lead through the entire municipality of Hesperingen.
