The Hetter-Millinger Bruch nature reserve is located in the area of the towns of Emmerich and Rees in the Kleve district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area, which consists of four sub-areas, extends northeast of the core city of Emmerich am Rhein along the northern state border with the Netherlands . The A 3 is mostly on the southern edge, near Millingen it runs through the area. The Rhine flows southwest.
There are many ditches for draining the area: Millinger Landwehr, Tote Landwehr, Netterdensch Canal, Löwenberger Landwehr.
meaning
For Emmerich and Rees, a 660 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number KLE-013 since 1989 . This was done to preserve, promote and restore communities of certain wild plants and animal species.
