action

Prince Malachi is reluctant to take over the crown after his father dies. He and his friend Jason return to his homeland after the two have been brought back by Jason's loyal brother Erik. The country presents itself to him in a devastating state. A plague unknown to him has made it uninhabitable and a wasteland. Then the wizard and witch hunter Kramer informs the prince, Jason and Erik that his country Dragonnoof is suffering from the knack of a witch association. He shows them a book that belongs to the witches. In this the solution to the victory over the Red Queen is in the form of a riddle. Kramer proves that witches exist when he reveals a villager to be a witch. With a troop of followers, Malachi sets out to defeat the Red Queen and save his country.

On the way they meet a group of fighters with their leader Darian, who joins their group after a fight. After a few days they reach the city of Kadistan , Kramer also fears witches here. Hobart, the city councilor, welcomes Malachi and his followers and invites them to a party. There the townspeople turn out to be witches and Hobart as the Red Queen. A fight ensues in which the Red Queen tries to kill Jason; but his brother Erik sacrifices himself for him. Jason is then captured by Jozefa, the Red Queen's daughter. Malachi and his soldiers have to flee. Now the Red Queen wants to attack King Malachi's fortress with her army. Jozefa fell in love with Jason and he fell in love with her. Nevertheless, she still carries out her mother's orders.

Malachi is now preparing his people for battle. A short time later, the Red Queen appears with her army. She wants to exchange Jason for the book of witches, but Jason refuses. After this decision, Malachi's army attacks the queen. Jason uses the hustle and bustle to leave. The queen wins the battle, and she kills the fighter Darian. Malachi and Kramer are arrested by the queen. Kramer can hide the book beforehand. Immediately afterwards the fleeing Jason is stopped by Jozefa and put in chains. At the same time, the Red Queen reveals to Malachi that he is her son and Jozefa his sister. She wanted to take revenge on his father because he separated her from her two children by exile after the birth, because she adopted the magic to save her sick son Malachi.

Despite this revelation, Malachi does not join his mother and is put in dungeon. Kramer is also sitting in the same room, where the two of them come up with the solution to the riddle. After the Queen's revelation, they now know that only Malachi can kill his mother. Shortly afterwards, Kramer is murdered by the witch guards. Jozefa has been commissioned to kill Jason, but instead frees him and joins his cause. The two now rush to the prison and free Malachi. Before they go to the queen, Malachi pays their last respects to Kramer's corpse. Once at his mother's, the three now fight against her. In the end, Malachi and Jozefa ram a knife in the stomach and finally the queen, who dies from it. Malachi and Jozefa survive. In the last scene of the film, Malachi, Jason and Jozefa give a funeral oration for the dead Erik who is lying in front of them.
