Himmelreich is a hamlet in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district . The area east of the Höllentalbahn belongs to Buchenbach , the west with the reception building of the train station in Kirchzarten .

Himmelreich station (2003)

On the western outskirts of the municipality of Buchenbach in Kirchzartener district, the Himmelreich train station is located on the Höllentalbahn, which runs every half hour during the day and offers a connection to Freiburg im Breisgau and the Upper Black Forest (alternating from Titisee to Neustadt in the Black Forest or as a three-rail train to Seebrugg am Schluchsee ) . There are parking spaces and bicycle parking spaces at the train station.

Industry and commerce

On the Buchenbach side there have been several industrial companies since the 20th century, including a company that was founded in 1935 as a farrier and wagon smithy, but now operates general metal construction and agricultural engineering, a transport company and a gravel works.

Hofgut Himmelreich

On the Kirchzarten side is the integratively managed inn / hotel / conference center "Hofgut Himmelreich", which is involved as an "Integrative Academy" in the field of vocational training for people with disabilities and their integration into the labor market. The inn is a former, larger agricultural property and was mentioned in a document around 1300. From 1600 it is run as an inn. Already Maria Antoinette is said to have stayed here on their way from Vienna to Paris. The inn was mentioned in a travel guide as early as 1814.

Erlenhof

The Erlenhof on the Buchenbacher side is a farm that keeps horses and has been documented in writing since 1885 at the latest.
