Hinnerk Bodendieck

Hinnerk Bodendieck (born 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German painter , graphic artist and illustrator .

Life

Hinnerk Bodendieck was born in Hamburg in 1965. At the age of 12 the intensive contact with sailing began , especially in the field of youth touring cutters and traditional ships ; a fact that, in addition to the Hamburg reference of his works, is reflected in his work. After completing school, he studied from 1988 to 1996 at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, where he used the years 1994 and 1995 to study in Madrid . Just three years after graduating, he began teaching at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences .

Since 1999 Bodendieck has been illustrating articles in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung or documenting events in drawings. In 2000 he documented a trip with difficult to train youngsters on the Undine from Sweden to Portugal; this work resulted in the exhibition “Kids, Art, Crises” in the warehouses of the Hamburg free port . Since 2007 he has also been creating illustrations and documentations for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung .

On May 17, 2015, he received the Baumkunst Prize donated by Günther Fielmann as part of the International Museum Day and the 16th Gottorf Landmarkt at Gottorf Castle . At the end of December 2015, Bodendieck designed the New Year's Eve cover for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung with a full-page color illustration.

Bodendieck has participated several times as a member of the artist group “ North German Realists ”.

Hinnerk Bodendieck lives and works in Hamburg.
