Hinrich Lipperade († 1494 ) was an important financial politician of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck as a merchant and councilor in the last quarter of the 15th century .

Life

He was the son of the businessman and councilor Heinrich Lipperade (the elder), who died in 1470 . The grandfather Hermann Lipperade († after 1396) immigrated to Lübeck from Lippe.

Hinrich Lipperade the Younger was elected to the council five years after his father's death. For the years 1484, 1486–1487, 1489–1490 and 1492 he is occupied as a treasurer. On the Hanseatic Days of the Year 1487 in Lübeck, he was in the Auditors Commission for the office of the Hanse in London , the Steelyard elected. In addition, he is a participant in the negotiations in Wismar for the year 1491 on an understanding in the Rostock cathedral feud between the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the dukes of Mecklenburg and in Lübeck occupied with ambassadors from Denmark for the return of a confiscated ship.

Like his father, he became a member of the circle society in 1479 . His portrait as the donor of a panel painting, which may have been created for the Michaeliskonvent or the Grönau infirmary by the Lübeck painter Hermen Rode , is in the Lübeck St. Annen Museum .
