Hinrich Sillem (Councilor)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hinrich Sillem (* around 1545 in Hamburg ; † May 6, 1615 ibid) was a German merchant , Hamburg councilor and bailiff in Ritzebüttel .

Life

As a merchant and citizen of Hamburg, Sillem took on various public offices. On August 25, 1581 he was elected from the parish of Sankt Nikolai to the eight man and on February 21, 1591 to the councilor. As such, he became the building yard owner in 1596.

In 1599 Sillem acquired the Tatenberg estate . Until the 17th century, Tatenberg was still its own diked inland island in the Elbe , which consisted of a large estate and smaller farms . In 1619 the estate was sold and then divided.

On April 23, 1609 he took over the Hamburg office of Ritzebüttel for six years. In 1612 he was represented there by councilor Albert Ostmann († 1625). On April 30, 1615, he returned to Hamburg sick and died a week later.

family

Sillem was a son of the businessman and councilor Jacob Sillem (1517–1584) from his first marriage to Ursula Moller († 1558), daughter of councilor Cord Moller (from half a star and Adlerklau) († 1527).

Hinrich Sillem was married twice. His son of the same name from his first marriage, Hinrich Sillem (1571–1617), was also a businessman and married to Margarete Jügert (1577–1625), daughter of the elder Franz Jügert († 1592). Their son Hinrich Sillem (1599–1662) was again a merchant and senior citizen.
