Hinterbuch is a district of the municipality of Laugna in the Swabian district of Dillingen an der Donau .

location

The village is located one kilometer south-east of Bocksberg between the Laugna river and the edge of the Seelachholz. The buildings are a bit scattered in the valley of the Prilgraben and on its slopes. This rises in the east and flows through the village into the Laugna. The place is connected to the State Road 2036 via a spur road.

history

Hinterbuch is first handed down in 1396, it is a clearing settlement that started out from Laugna or Modelshausen . The original name was "Buch" (settlement on the beech forest). The place was its own parish and was also called St. Stephen's Book to distinguish it from other places according to the patronage of its church. The name Hinterbuch did not gain acceptance until the 17th century. The place belonged to the rule Bocksberg .

As a district of Bocksberg , Hinterbuch was incorporated into the municipality of Laugna as part of the municipal reform on May 1, 1978.

Religions

In earlier times there was a private church dedicated to St. Stefan of Mr. von Bocksberg with a parish seat. Around 1750 it was demolished because it was dilapidated without any traces of its location being preserved. Since then, Hinterbuch has belonged to the parish of Modelshausen.
