Bocksberg is a district of the municipality of Laugna in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube .

location

The church village is 2.5 kilometers southwest of Laugna on the state road 2036 . It stretches from the Laugna valley to the northwest slope of the 489  m high Buschelberg.

history

Holy Trinity and St. Leonhard in Bocksberg

Bocksberg was built around the Bocksberg Castle, first mentioned in 1190, and belonged to the Laugna-Bocksberg rule. From 1613 the place belonged to the Fuggers . The castle was destroyed several times, the last time in 1653 during the Thirty Years War , and not rebuilt afterwards.

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Bocksberg with its districts Modelshausen , Hinterbuch and Kaag was incorporated into the municipality of Laugna as part of the municipal reform.

Religions

Bocksberg was a branch of the Laugna parish until 1906 and was then incorporated into the parish of Modelshausen. The Church of the Holy Trinity and St. Leonhard was built in 1748.
