Modelshausen is a district of the municipality of Laugna in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube .
location
The parish village is three kilometers southwest of Laugna on the left bank of the Laugna Canal, a left branch of the Laugna . It borders directly on the neighboring Bocksberg .
Several municipal roads connect the town with the eastbound State Road 2036 .
history
Modelshausen was first handed down in 1129 as “Muotolteshusen”, which means “to the houses of Muothold”, an Alemannic farmer. Presumably it is an extension of Laugna. After Mutholtes-, Mutels- and Mutoltzhoffen, the name "Modelzhausen" appears in 1391. The place belonged closed to the rule Bocksberg . For a long time it remained a purely rural settlement with no landlord, shopkeeper or craftsman.
As a district of Bocksberg , Modelshausen was incorporated into the municipality of Laugna on May 1, 1978.
Religions
Modelshausen has been a separate parish together with Hinterbuch from time immemorial . In 1391 the parish seat was moved from Hinterbuch to Modelshausen and from 1448 Hinterbuch was a subsidiary of Modleshausen. Today's Catholic parish church of St. Peter was built around 1713, the nave and the tower structure date from 1921/22.
