Osterbuch is a district of the municipality of Laugna in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube .

location

The place is three kilometers southeast of Laugna at the source and on the upper reaches of the Asbacher Bach. The DLG 10 district road coming from Laugna leads through it.

history

The parish village of Osterbuch is a clearing settlement that was created from Laugna. The place is handed down in 1244 as "Buoche" (settlement on the beech forest). To distinguish it from neighboring book ( Behind book ) the place was after the patron saint of his parish called Michael book. In 1358 the name Osterbuch was first handed down, and it caught on. In the 13th century, Osterbuch was the seat of a lower noble family , the Lords of Buch. The nunnery in Holzen had been wealthy in the village since the 15th century and gradually became almost the sole landlord through acquisitions . Through the secularization of the monastery in 1802, the place, which until then had been in the margraviate of Burgau , became part of Bavaria . The monastery property was awarded to the Counts of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen as compensation. This created a count's nursing office in the place. The property passed to the Counts of Fischler-Treuberg in 1831. After the aristocratic jurisdiction was abolished in 1848, Osterbuch was incorporated into the Wertingen District Court .

On April 1, 1954, the Asbach district was reclassified from the municipality of Rieblingen to the municipality of Osterbuch. This was incorporated into the municipality of Laugna as part of the municipal reform on May 1, 1978.
