Location of Rieblingen in Bavaria

Rieblingen is a district of the town of Wertingen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . Rieblingen was incorporated into Wertingen on July 1, 1972. The place is seven kilometers south of Wertingen at the origin of the Bliensbach.

history

Rieblingen was founded around the 8th century when the Bliensbach and Schienbach valleys were settled. The place was first mentioned as Ribelingen in the middle of the 12th century. The place name has its origin in the personal name Ribilo as a short form to Richbald. Rieblingen was a small aristocratic seat . Around 1492 the Lords of Grönenbach , who had also been bailiffs in Wertingen, were resident. In 1492 the place came to the Pappenheimers as a fief of the Augsburg bishopric . In 1700 the fief came back to the bishopric when it fell back and was subordinated to the Westendorf Care Office. Among other things, several Augsburg monasteries were still wealthy in Rieblingen. As a result of the secularization , the place came to Bavaria in 1803 , where it was assigned to the Wertingen district court .

The parish village of Asbach has belonged to Rieblingen since the 19th century and was transferred to Osterbuch on April 1, 1954 .

religion

Rieblingen, although an old foundation, was not a separate parish . It belonged to the neighboring parish of Prettelshofen .

Instead of a chapel that was demolished in 1961 during the land consolidation , a new chapel was built in 1993 on the Kirchenweg to Prettelshofen . This has the patronage "to the painful Mother of God".
