Neuschenau

Neuschenau is a district of the town of Wertingen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . Neuschenau was reclassified on July 1, 1972 as a district of Hirschbach in the city of Wertingen. The wasteland is two kilometers south of Hirschbach at the origin of a left tributary of the Hohenreich Mühlbach.

history

The place is first mentioned around 1285 as "Lustenaw". The place was at times a noble seat, a branch of the Lords of Hohenreichen is proven around 1379. From the 16th century Neuschenau belonged to the Wertingen rule .

religion

Neuschenau belongs to the Catholic parish Prettelshofen . The Catholic chapel Sta. Maria in Re is a neo-baroque central building with an octagonal floor plan from 1910.
