Exterior construction

On the south side of the church the tower rises up with its square substructure, into which large rectangular glare fields are cut. The octagonal structure, covered with an onion dome, is broken up by arched sound arcades and cross- oval openings on the attic floor. The west facade, on which the entrance is located, is crowned by a curved gable divided by two cornices .

The frescoes were made by an unknown artist in 1748 and reworked by Oswald Völkel in 1923/24 . The Trinity is depicted on the ceiling fresco of the choir , surrounded by medallions depicting the four evangelists . In the choir, on both sides of the main altar, two wall frescoes were exposed again. The left represents the apostle Peter and the right the apostle Andrew .

The central ceiling painting of the nave is dedicated to the patron saint of the church, St. Leonhard . It depicts the saint floating on a cloud in front of Mary. The two angels at his feet hold chains, the attribute of St. Leonhard, who is also venerated as the patron saint of prisoners. At the lower edge of the picture crouch a paralyzed man with crutches, a mother with a sick child, a leper, a woman possessed who is freed from demons, and a prisoner who shows his chains. The four medallions depict St. Anthony of Padua , St. Wendelin and Isidore of Madrid . In the background of the portrait of St. John Nepomuk is shown being overthrown from Charles Bridge in Prague .

The fresco above the gallery again depicts St. Leonhard with a herd of cattle at his feet and the Bocksberg Church in the background. The medallions on the side are reminiscent of St. Sebastian , pierced by arrows, and St. Vitus , whose oil kettle indicates his martyrdom. The Good Shepherd is depicted on the ceiling of the passage under the gallery .
