Hinterforst is a village and primary school community in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley . Politically, it belongs to the municipalities of Altstätten (approx. 60%) and Eichberg (approx. 40%). Hinterforst has its own postcode (9452), which does not apply to the entire area of ​​the primary school community; the post office was closed.
