The Hinterkirchenerbach is a two kilometer long right and northern tributary of the Elbbach in the Westerwald .

The Hinterkirchenerbach rises south of a forest west of Langenhahn . It initially flows in a north-easterly direction through a green area on the southern edge of Langenhahn. It crosses under Koblenzer Strasse and there directs its course to the southeast. He now reaches Hinterkirchen, which he crosses partially piped. Its direction of flow is oriented to the south. After leaving the village it turns to the southwest and now flows about 150 m through meadows and fields . Then it changes direction to the south and finally flows into the Elbbach .
