The Hittorf-Gymnasium , named after Johann Wilhelm Hittorf and founded in 1904, is a municipal high school in Recklinghausen .
Programmatic focus
Specialist focuses are the natural sciences , technology and computer science , which are focused in the context of the MINT program (mathematical-scientific-technical). The subjects of computer science and technology were offered as early as the early 1980s and could also be attended by high school students from other Recklinghausen high schools.
The school offers, among other things, a bilingual Abitur in German and English.
The grammar school has been offering all-day care since the 2010/2011 school year .

In 2010, a working group managed to place itself among the ten best participants in the VDE Technology Prize . The Hittorf-Gymnasium has been recognized as a European school by the NRW Ministry of Education since 2012 .
