The Hochanger is 1682 m above sea level. A. high mountain in Upper Styria . It is located in the western part of the Mürzsteg Alps between the Hohen Veitsch and the Turntaler Kogel ( 1610 m above sea level ) in the northeast and the Styrian Seebergpass in the northwest. Because of its favorable location and its tree-free summit, the Hochanger is a very good panoramic mountain, especially to the eastern Hochschwab group and the Hohe Veitsch as well as to the Aflenz basin in the southwest.
Climbs
- From the Seebergalm (located on the Styrian Seeberg on Mariazeller Straße B20) via the Lappental and the Göriacheralm, walking time: two hours
- From Turnau or Göriach via the Ostereralm, walking time: three hours
- From Greith via the Turnauer Alm and the Höhenweg to the Göriacher Alm, walking time: three and a half hours
In winter, the Hochanger from the Seebergalm is a popular, simple ski touring summit . Its terrain is similarly well suited for snowshoe hikes .
