The Hohe Warte in Detmold - Berlebeck is a 325 meter high elevation on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest and the name of a nature reserve that was first provisionally designated in 1993 and then permanently established by the Detmold landscape plan.

In earlier times, the area at Hohe Warte was used as a meadow for sheep and goats. The nutrient-poor sandstone soil was therefore largely unforested until the 1950s. Since then a gradual succession has set in , pioneer plants are the mountain ash and sand birch . The typical local beech , sessile oak and English oak trees as well as spruce , Scots pine and larch trees are also found here. The open spaces are dominated by common heather and blueberries , and bog berries are less common . The fauna consists of grasshoppers , butterflies, ground beetles and ants.
Around half of the area belongs to NABU , which operates the Rolfschen Hof nearby and prevents reforestation by temporarily grazing the Hohe Warte.
