Holger Jackisch

Holger Jackisch (born March 21, 1959 in Bautzen , † December 30, 2001 in Leipzig ) was a German writer , editor and director . He wrote short stories , radio plays and radio features .

Life

After graduating from high school, which Holger Jackisch took in Bautzen in 1977, he initially worked as a nurse and ambulance transporter. Basic military service with the NVA was followed by studies at the engineering school for civil engineering in Leipzig and a three-year activity as a site manager, before Jackisch studied at the "Johannes R. Becher" Institute for Literature in Leipzig from 1985 to 1988 . He then worked from 1989 to 1991 as an editor for the independent weekly newspaper Die Andere Zeitung and, in succession to Karl-Heinz Tesch, from 1994 until his untimely death at Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk as head of the feature editorial team at MDR- Hörfunks. Kathrin Aehnlich , Paul Kohl , Helmut Kopetzky , Friedrich Schütze-Quest and Joachim Walther belonged to his inner circle of authors with whom he created successful radio documentaries .
