Holger Kube Ventura

Holger Kube Ventura (born August 21, 1966 in Dreieich ) is a German art historian and curator .

Live and act

Kube Ventura studied art and English from 1987 to 1994 , as well as art history and education at the University of Kassel . From 1994 he was involved as a curator or employee in various exhibition projects and festivals, including the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival (1994, 1997, 2004 and 2007), Monitoring (1997), Sub Fiction (1998) and Falster Versuchsgelände (1999 ). From 1994 to 1996 he worked as a freelance curator of the Kassel Art Association in the Fridericianum . In 1996 and 1997 he worked as an art educator in the documenta X . From 1997 to 2000 he was a curator on the board of the Kasseler Kunstverein and a doctoral candidate at the University of Konstanz . In 2001 he received his doctorate with the study “Political Art Terms - in the 1990s in German-speaking countries” .

From 2001 to 2003 Holger Kube Ventura was the artistic director and managing director of Werkleitz Gesellschaft - Center for Artistic Image Media Saxony-Anhalt . In this context, he curated the 5th Werkleitz Biennale in 2002. From 2004 to 2009, Kube Ventura was program and project coordinator at the Federal Cultural Foundation in Halle (Saale) before becoming director of the Frankfurter Kunstverein in April 2009 . He left there at his own request in November 2014; his successor was Franziska Nori . From March 2016 to September 2017, Kube Ventura was artistic director of the Tübinger Kunsthalle before Nicole Fritz took over this position. In November 2017 he took over the management of the newly created collection for concrete art in the city of Reutlingen .
