Franziska Nori (* 1968 in Rome ) is a German-Italian art historian , curator and museum director. She lives in Frankfurt am Main .

Career

Franziska Nori studied cultural anthropology , Romance languages and art history at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.

She has been head of the Frankfurter Kunstverein since November 2014 . From 2007 to 2014 she was director of the Centro di Cultura Contemporanea Strozzina at the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence and from 2000 to 2003 headed the digital art department at the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt. From 1996 to 2006 she worked as a freelance curator for modern and contemporary art for the Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien (mumok), the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, the Brown University , the Transmediale Festival, the Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Marid and the Fundación la Caixa in Palma de Mallorca. In 2011 she completed the Getty Museum Leadership Institute program. Franziska Nori has been Professor of Museology and Curatorial Practices of Contemporary Art at the Marist University Lorenzo de Medici since 2011. She has published numerous articles and catalogs on contemporary art.
