Otto Paul Burkhardt

Otto Paul Burkhardt (born December 24, 1952 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German author and cultural journalist .

Life

Otto Paul Burkhardt studied at the University of Tübingen German at Paul Hoffmann , musicology at Georg von Dadelsen and history at Karl Friedrich Stroheker . After graduating, he worked as a journalist and editor , and since 2003 he has also worked as a book author.

He has published books and articles in the fields of theater , music and art, among others. a. Contemporary historical volumes on the Stuttgart State Theater and the Tübingen State Theater . The focus here was on the acting directorships of Friedrich Schirmer (1993–2005), Hasko Weber (2005–2013) and Simone Sterr (2005–2014). In addition to topics related to the history of theater and music, his journalistic interests include directors , conductors , playwrights and visual artists . A constant theme in his work is the interactions between culture and politics. As a juror in the field of acting he was a. a. Participates in the festival for 6 days at the Theater Rampe Stuttgart and in the theater prize of the Zimmertheater Tübingen .
