Nicole Fritz

Nicole Fritz (born July 7, 1969 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German art and cultural scientist. She is the director of the Tübingen art gallery .

Life

She studied art history and empirical cultural studies at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . After a stay abroad, including in London at Sotheby's, it became the subject of Inhabited Myths in 2002 . Joseph Beuys and the superstition doctorate.

From 2002 to 2004 she worked as a research assistant at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden , where she supervised exhibitions such as: Open all day. Sculpture Summer in Baden-Baden; Stefan Ettlinger; Ha kypopt! Russian Art Today; Georg Herold . In 2005 she worked as an art coordinator at Akademie Schloss Solitude . From 2006 to 2007 she worked as a project coordinator and co-curator of the exhibition project Art Lives! See the world with different eyes for the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg .

In 2007 Fritz was co-curator of the 10th Small Sculpture Triennial in Fellbach . From 2008 to 2011 she worked as a freelance curator for the Städtische Galerie Ravensburg and curated the exhibitions Tom Wesselmann , among other things . Pictures on the Wall of Your Heart , Sowing and Weeding. Folk culture in contemporary art (tour stops: Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg ; Städtische Galerie Bietigheim and the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen / NL), Christian Schad - mirror and magic and fantastic! Young art from Baden-Württemberg (for the Pforzheim Municipal Gallery ). 2010–2011 she worked as a curator at the Kunsthalle Krems .

In August 2011 Nicole Fritz became director of the Ravensburg Art Museum , which was still under construction at the time and opened on March 8, 2013. In 2015 the house was awarded the Museum of the Year 2015 award by the German section of the International Association of Critics (AICA).

Since January 2018 Fritz has been running the Tübingen Kunsthalle as director, succeeding Holger Kube Ventura . She is also the sole director of the Kunsthalle Tübingen Foundation.

Nicole Fritz is a member of various juries and appointment commissions. Since 2007 she has also been a lecturer at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the Reinwardt Institute in Amsterdam (2011).
