Holger Strutwolf

Holger Strutwolf (* 1960 in Esens ) is a German Protestant church historian .

Life

After graduating from high school in Wilhelmshaven in 1980 , he studied Protestant theology in Bethel (Bielefeld) and Heidelberg . In 1988 he passed the first theological exam ( Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oldenburg ) and the master's degree in theology at Heidelberg University . After completing his doctorate in Heidelberg in 1991, he worked from 1991 to 1997 as a research assistant at the Institute for New Testament Text Research at the University of Münster. After his habilitation in 1997 in Münster , he was vicar of the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate from 1998 to 2001 . From 2002 to 2004 he was pastor z. A. Since 2004 he has been professor of patristic and New Testament text research and director of the Institute for New Testament text research and the Bible Museum .

His research and interests are New Testament text research, ancient church history (Gnosis, Origen , Eusebius of Caesarea ) and theology and philosophy of antiquity.
