action

After the mysterious murder of a scientist, the detectives Frank Turner and Lisa Martinez receive the assignment, whose colleague Dr. Protecting Maggie Dalton. The two investigators soon discover that there is more to the matter than they initially thought, because the perpetrator is the elite soldier Michael Griffin, who is invisible as a result of a secret project. Griffin now wants a cure from Maggie as his cells begin to decay.

Griffin kills Lisa while Frank escapes with Maggie. Since Frank is supposed to hand over the case, he decides to escape with Maggie and stop Griffin on his own.

While Griffin kills his superior who brought him to the secret project, Frank and Maggie encounter Timothy Laurents, another participant in the experiment, in which the cell deterioration is already well advanced. He reveals that Griffin killed political opponents on behalf of the senator who finances the project and eventually became possessed by the power to kill. When Griffin kidnaps Maggie's sister Heather, Maggie is forced to meet with the Invisible One. He wants to inject Maggie with the invisibility serum to bind her to himself, but Frank prevents this at the last moment. While Griffin and Maggie flee to a laboratory, Frank now injects the serum.

As invisible, Frank overpowers the senator, who is then hit by a car and killed while trying to escape. Finally, Frank also defeats Griffin, whom Maggie injected with a poison instead of the cure and thus decisively weakened him.

In the end, Maggie and Heather wait for Frank to return, roaming the city as an invisible man.

Reviews

“Although Paul Verhoeven's 'Hollow Man' from 2000 wasn't exactly a box-office hit, thanks to the respectable DVD success, a smaller sequel of the SF thriller is now being launched. The former top star Christian Slater (' Operation: Broken Arrow ') is now taking over Kevin Bacon's post as the invisible person on the rampage , but apart from a few moments the star can only be heard, in D so not even that. The effects are successful and the story old-fashioned in a solid pastime for genre fans. "

- Video Week

“Disappointing remake of a science fiction thriller by Paul Verhoeven (2000), which in turn is based on the original ' The Invisible ' (1933). An uninteresting story with a largely invisible leading actor. "
