Hollywood Beyond is the pseudonym of the British singer , pianist , guitarist and songwriter Mark Rogers (born March 3, 1960 in Birmingham ). The single What’s the Color of Money? became a European hit in 1986 .

biography

First, Mark Rogers got classical piano lessons . Impressions that he gained at concerts by Black Sabbath grew his interest in hard rock , which is why he learned to play the guitar . The Jimi Hendrix fan gained live experience playing in various Latin jazz bands .

In July 1986 Rogers appeared as Hollywood Beyond with What's the Color of Money? the jump into the British (7th place), a little later also into the German (21st place), Austrian (15th place) and Swiss charts (14th place). The producer of the song was Stephen Hague, who through his work with the Pet Shop Boys and OMD was known.

The second single, No More Tears , peaked at number 47 in the UK in September of that year, before Save Me only peaked at number 91 in May 1987. There were no further single successes. In early 1987, If, the only Hollywood Beyond album was released . It also only sold moderately.
