The Hollywood Burnouts are a glam metal and sleaze rock band from Augsburg, founded in 2008 .
history
The music group was founded in summer 2008 by four music students at the time. These, who had previously been active in other music groups, discovered their common preference for hair metal from the 1980s, for example from bands such as Guns N 'Roses , Mötley Crüe , LA Guns or Poison , and founded their own music group with the intention of making music in to play this style. A demo was recorded as early as 2009 and the first concert appearances followed.
After a self-titled EP in 2010, the Hollywood Burnouts finally released their first studio album Excess All Areas in early 2012 on the Rock Road Records label ( Soulfood ). This was received with favorable reviews. The high musical quality and professionalism, even for a debut album, were praised. Although the deliberately nostalgic style of playing was well recognized, some critics criticized a production that was too clean and without edges, which would lag a little compared to newer rough sleaze rock bands from Scandinavia. The band themselves probably never put any emphasis on sounding "Swedish", but worked much more on having their own natural band sound.
A high concert and festival presence of the formation ensured quickly increasing popularity. They toured several times together with greats such as Cinderella , Bonfire , Crashdïet , Hardcore Superstar or Sister . In the fall of 2013, Hollywood Burnouts released their second album, Kick It Up a Notch! .
