Holzgut is a district of the Schwanstetten market in the Roth district in Central Franconia .

location

The wasteland is about 18 kilometers south of Nuremberg , two kilometers west of the Schwand district and one kilometer east of Rednitzhembach , directly on the Main-Danube Canal . The Leerstetten lock is one and a half kilometers south of the village . The Hembach flows directly north past the place.

history

Holzgut was first mentioned in writing in the late 17th century as the Einsiedelhof under the name Holz Güthel . In the course of the regional reform , the municipality of Leerstetten , to which Holzgut belonged, was incorporated into Schwanstetten on May 1, 1978 . Together with Hagershof , Unter- and Oberfichtenmühle , Holzgut forms an exclave between the canal, which was flooded in 1985, and the motorway-like federal highway 2.

today

Agriculture was largely abandoned. The breeding of ornamental birds and Cameroon sheep is only practiced to a limited extent . The vast majority of timber is used as an unpaved parking space for mobile homes, camping cars and sporadically as a dry berth for pleasure boats. Motorcycles can also be wintered in the halls that were formerly used for agriculture.

traffic

A municipal road connects the place with the district road RH 1 as well as the motorway-like federal road 2 . Gravel roads lead to Hagershof, Ober- and Unterfichtenmühle. The local public transport ( ÖPNV ) does not serve Holzgut.
