Holzhausen bei Buchloe is a district of the municipality Igling in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .

geography

The parish village of Holzhausen is about five kilometers southwest of Igling.

The Obere Riedberg (686 m) rises east of the parish village . The Dorfbach flows through the town center and flows into the Singold there .

history

Holzhausen and its castle initially belonged to the Heilig Kreuz monastery in Augsburg and formed its own court marque .

The monastery Steingaden acquired over several centuries, first in 1295 the church set , 1494 Hofmark and finally in 1643 the chateau in Holzhausen. The high jurisdiction lay with the Landsberg district court .

At the end of the 18th century, 38 properties are mentioned in the parish village, 29 were built for the Steingaden Monastery and one each for the St. Ulrich and Afra and Heilig Kreuz monasteries in Augsburg. Three properties were self-contained.

After the secularization , the castle became a parish frieze . In the course of the community edicts, the community of Holzhausen was established in 1818, which was independent until it was incorporated into Igling on May 1, 1978.

Attractions

The Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist is located in Holzhausen. The core of the late Gothic church was renovated in 1739.

Also in the center is the former Rudolfshausen Castle from 1581.
