In the CIA anti-terror center in Kabul, Mathison is responsible for an airstrike in which the terrorist chief Haissam Haqqani is the target in Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan . Haqqani's nephew, medical student Aayan Ibrahim, survived the attack and is being monitored by satellite by Mathison and her team.
