Dennis Hormes
Dennis Hormes (born July 1981 in Kempen ) is a German blues - and rock - guitarist and - singer .
Career
Hormes made his first appearance at the age of 12 and regularly attended concerts and sessions. At the age of 16 he was an endorser for Gibson guitars , making him the world's youngest endorser in history for this brand. Also at the age of 16, Dennis Hormes became a member of the band around TM Stevens with whom he a. a. Played tours in Japan and the US.
Hormes is the official endorser for Yamaha , Engl Amps , Tones of Nature , Lakewood and Cordial Cables . Together with ENGL he developed the "Retro Tube 50/100" amp. In the Dennis Hormes blues band , which developed from the Dennis Hormes Project , he played and sang alongside Martin Engelien on bass and Dieter Steinmann (both former members of the Klaus Lage band) on drums. With this line-up, they released a live album in 2002, which was re-released for the third time (Zyx Records, Sony Records).
After world tours, live performances and studio recordings, for artists such as BTM Stevens, Fettes Brot , Tom Beck , DJ Bobo , Rebekah , Hutch , Roachford , The Boss Hoss , Krosnoff , and Mark Medlock was he since early 2011 principal guitarist in the musical Richard o'Brien's Rocky Horror Show up with it March 2012 was on a European tour. He is also a producer (including the albums by Tom Beck - Superficial Animal, Norman Guy & Paddy Boy) and songwriter for various artists. In October 2012, Hormes left Tom Beck's band, where he played a key role as co-songwriter, musical director and guitarist.
At the end of 2011 he founded the band Dennis Hormes & The Things (Dennis Hormes - vocals / guitar, Jadula Freydank - guitar, Rob Lindemann - bass, Sebastian Gross - drums). The album Here for a Reason was released in 2013.
Equipment
Hormes main guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica 604, which he usually plays without many effects via a Marshall or an Engl retro tube amp that he helped develop. A Yamaha SG 1802 specially made for him with two P90 pickups is also often used.
