Hornow-Wadelsdorf , Lěšće-Zakrjejc in Lower Sorbian , was a municipality in the Spree-Neisse district in Brandenburg , which existed from December 31, 2001 to January 1, 2016.

Hornow-Wadelsdorf was created on December 31, 2001 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Hornow and Wadelsdorf. The community belonged to the Döbern-Land office . On January 1, 2016 Hornow-Wadelsdorf was incorporated into the city of Spremberg . Hornow and Wadelsdorf have since formed independent districts of Spremberg.

Hornow village church

The later pioneer Carl Klinke was baptized in the village church of the Hornow . A memorial plaque next to the altar reminds of the so-called “Düppelstürmer”: “Karl / Klinke / geb. June 15, 1840 / to Bohsdorf / pioneer in the 3rd battalion / found hero's death / during the storming of Schanze / II before Düppel / April 18, 1864 / A good soldier / Faithful to death / God and his king / Die Royal II Cavalry Brigade ”.
