Horst Afflerbach
Horst Afflerbach (born February 6, 1953 in Siegen ) is a Protestant theologian , author and former director of the Biblical-Theological Academy Wiedenest (formerly "Bible School Wiedenest").
Life
Afflerbach studied Protestant theology from 1973 to 1978 at the state-independent Theological University in Basel . From 1978 to 1979 he completed an additional course at the theological seminar of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany (BEFG) in Hamburg and a visiting course at the theological faculty of the University of Hamburg . In 1979 Afflerbach was ordained pastor in the BEFG and then worked from 1979 to 1985 in this position in the EFG in Bünde ( Westphalia ). From 1985 to 1993 he was a lecturer in systematic theology and community practice at the Wiedenest Bible School. From 1993 to 1998 he was pastor of a congregation (EFG) in Gummersbach - Derschlag in the Oberbergisches Kreis , but remained a guest lecturer in Wiedenest during this time. From 1998 Afflerbach taught again as a lecturer for systematic theology and community practice at the Wiedenest Bible School. In 2005 he received his doctorate on the subject of Erich Sauer's theology of salvation history in the context of missionary responsibility at the University of South Africa as a Doctor of Theology (DTh). At the beginning of the 2010/11 school year, he took over the management of the Biblical-Theological Academy in Wiedenest, which he held until his retirement in 2018.
Honorary positions
Afflerbach has been a member of the main board of the German Evangelical Alliance since 2006 . Until 2018 he was a member of the Christian and Politics working group . Since 2006 he has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the Institute for Ethics and Values in Giessen. From 2006 to 2018 he was a member of the German Society for Mission Studies and from 2001 to 2018 of the Working Group for Evangelical Theology (AfeT). From 1994 to 1998 Afflerbach was a member of the federal government of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany.
