Volker Kessler

Volker Kessler (* 1962 in Gummersbach ) is a German evangelical theologian and professor at the University of South Africa . He is also head of the Academy for Christian Leaders , Dean of the Society for Education and Research in Europe and the author of various specialist and non-fiction books.

Life

Kessler received his doctorate in 1989 with his thesis on entangled product orders and non-commutative arithmetic at the University of Cologne , where he obtained a doctorate in mathematics and science. He studied Protestant theology at Columbia International University (USA) , where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in 1998 . In 2004 he received his PhD from the University of South Africa (UniSA) with his dissertation in Practical Theology on A Dialogue Between Management Theory and Old Testament Theology: McGregor's Theories X and Y on Leadership in the Light of Old Testament Anthropology .

From 1991 to 2002 he worked at Siemens in Munich on research projects on communication security and held seminars on this topic. Between 1992 and 1995 he held teaching positions in the department of computer science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Rostock . In 1996 he was visiting scholar at the Isaac Newton Institute and the University of Cambridge .

Kessler has been the director of the Academy for Christian Leaders (AcF) since 1998 and director of studies at the Society for Education and Research in Europe in Oerlinghausen since 2002 . Since 1999 he has held seminars on value-oriented leadership in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America and has been Associate Professor in the Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology Department at the University of South Africa (UniSA) since June 1, 2012 . He is a lecturer in management and organizational development at the European School of Culture and Theology of the Academy for World Mission .

Private

Volker Kessler has been married to the psychological consultant Martina Kessler since 1983 . The couple has four children and lives in Gummersbach.
