Horst Feilzer (born February 21, 1957 in Mayen , † September 28, 2009 in Osnabrück ) was a German football player .
Life
In his youth, “Feile” was active at TuS Mayen , among others . Feilzer began his professional career in 1977 at FC St. Pauli , where he played for two years. He moved to VfL Osnabrück for another two years , where Feilzer developed into an outright goalscorer. In 1981 Bayer 05 Uerdingen finally signed the “Bomber from Osnabrück” , which also marked the beginning of the Uerdingen club's greatest successes. Horst Feilzer was promoted to the Bundesliga with Bayer 05 in 1983 - he scored twice in the relegation game against Schalke 04 in a 3-1 draw - and won the DFB Cup in 1985 . In the final against FC Bayern Munich , he quickly equalized to 1-1 with a volley in the 9th minute of the game. In the following season he was part of the team that managed the miracle of the Grotenburg in the European Cup , the legendary 7-3 win against Dynamo Dresden . In 1986 he went to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin for another year , where he ended his professional career after relegating from the Bundesliga. The midfielder played 128 games in the first Bundesliga (16 goals) and 168 games in the 2nd Bundesliga (65 goals).
After his career, he tried his hand at amateur coaching, including at TuS Hoisdorf and Türkgücü SC Osnabrück . Horst Feilzer last lived with his family in Bissendorf near Osnabrück and worked for a car dealership.
Horst Feilzer died on September 28, 2009 at the age of 52 after a serious illness in a clinic in Osnabrück.
